Into the Chorus (producing techniques, how to spice it up)

Hi guys,

i was just wondering how producers make the chorus more fresh or spicy. In the sense of more outstanding to the verse. Do they do something with the master? I am not studying this stuff and well in many songs or remixes there is probably not any work in the producing of verse to chorus. mostly what gives there the spiciness into a chorus is a new instrument coming in adding some timbre to the texture and/or some new harmonic chords. I got right now no example but i was just working on a set and thought that the instruments weren't so much kicking into the verse and thought about how to add something to the mix instead of like a transposing drum beat going down or something like that.

The best answers are probaly to be found in just listening to tracks that are produced the way you like - with a little bit of production experience and not being entirely stone deaf - usually possible to get a rough idea what is done, and then you just need to ask for technical specifics.
