Guys,
I have a doubt. I never used any audio interface while performing with Ableton Live + APC 40 + Macbook Pro, as I connect my Macbook Pro ( from Built-In Audio Output jack) directly to the Mixer.
I heard that using an audio interface (for example, NI Audio 8 ) would be good for various reasons (enable headphone use, so you can pre-listen to other tracks, connect other instruments, etc). But is it truely necessary?? I mean, if i only use 1 channel in the mixer, and dont need to pre-listen to other tracks (I know my set very well), does it have other function?
I heard that it gives you a better sound quality rather than pluging the laptop straight to the mixer. Is it true? is it worth it?
I've been connecting my laptop to the mixer directly for months now, and have a pretty good sound quality...
thanks guys

Less latency.

If you dont need loads of outputs, NI Audio 2 is good as well - have one for when I want something small and minimal, work great with MBP and very cheap too.
Nothing to see here - move along!

Does the NI Audio Interfaces work well also for Studio recording?
