Am a newbie trying to figure out the basics. Currently am routing Live into Protools as an insert. Hopefully this is correct. I get the Live feed, and Protools stops and starts Live. How can I record Live's output into a ProTools track as it plays in Live?

If you have Pro Tools (I am assuming LE) up and Live rewired into an aux track, set the aux track output to a bus. Set up an audio track with the input of the bus. Arm record and off you go.

I am going to be running a similar system.
Are you running ProTools on a Mac and LIVE on a PC?
How did you successfully get ProTools to stop and start LIVE? Are they in sync measure for measure? Which is the MIDI master? Which is the audio clock master?
Thanks,

I run it on a Mac, but the same applies for PC. You launch Pro Tools first and have Live rewired into PT. Pro Tools is the master, all tempo stuff would be set in PT. The sync is spot on. You press play in PT, Live starts. It doesn't involve any midi stuff.

Ah - you run PT and LIVE in the same computer.... I'm thinking of running them in different computers. Maybe I'll try both methods.

That did it. Thank's kid. Also am able to use the same bus for Yellow Tools Majestic, which I had a hard time figuring out how to interface with PT, seeing as how the Majestic manual is a joke. Seems one has to create a MIDI track and select the Digi 002 MIDI port for inut and then select Majestic for the output. Then another AUX track for Majestic pointing to the bus. And apprently, LIVE and Majestic cannot share an AUX track. FYall'sI.
