So we have been working on some hip hop with some buddies. We put together a beat using ableton and started recording the lyrics into ableton as well. A couple of vocal tracks in we get all sorts of distortion and glitching just in the play back. Recording was clean just the play back. Any ideas where to start with this issue?
Could this be a CPU usage issue?

Re: Issues when recording into live (random distortion)
I feel you man.
I have been trying to record some vocals on my tracks , along with vocals some external synth through Korgs and Moogs but the Latency is horrible and if you try to reduce the latency the audio starts to crack.
Here are my 2 cents :
Its about the soundcard.
I use the Audio 8 DJ as an external sound input card-- which probably is not the best choice.
I am hoping someone can read your question and answer mine along with it which is talking about the same issue.
1) What is the best external soundcard to attain minimal latency when inputting external sounds like vocals , external synth...
2) What are the Overall Latency/ Driver Error Compensation values one has to set Ableton to - to attain a smooth sound?
Wish I could be of more help - All I can tell you is that - this may just be because of your external sound card.

Figures. I use two. I mostly use my Mbox2. I tried mixing some sound down and it helped! I took all my beats and synths and mixed them down into one track and then mixed down the vocals that were clean into another track.yush wrote:I feel you man.
