I have just purchased a 3.4GHz quad core imac i7 16GB ram osx 10.6.7,using Ableton Live suite 8 (2.2.2).
When I plug my usb external audio interface (NI audio 8DJ) I get a high pitched static noise/hum. Sounds very much like a grounding issue.
When I use a powered usb hub the noise reduces by about half but still there. Also using a power surge board.
Have seen similar posts on mac forums about the same thing. I also have a macbook running on leopard and no issues there.
Anyone else encountered a similar problem with the new imac i7 or is it some other problem I have overlooked.
Maybe a compatibility issue with my interface and snow leopard. Though my driver is up to date.
Definitely time for new audio interface but really think this is a mac issue with the usb ports.
Any help anyone?
