hmm, maybe if you werent so damn good at making interesting music, you would have an easier time making techno...

really tho, i like techno, but i think that your songs are too 'songy', or your music is to 'musical' to quite fit with techno, but as far as dance music goes, i really dig both versions of that other one you posted- cumqkatic002. a little vocoder and its reminding me of mandroid a little bit.

sorry if i didnt really tell you what to DO with this one. i like it but i think for techno there needs to be a little less sounds and more repititous stuff where the small differences or changes are what makes the loopiness not only bearable but possibly downright enjoyable. (like plasticman- repititous as hell, but its the details that matter) when i firsst heard plasticman i didnt like it at all, but after <actively> listening to dance music for several years and being able to better hear what he is doing with the sounds i love it. i think one needs to be really INTO techno before it makes much sense, and for a long time (living techno) before they can actually make soimething decent). but hell, im not good at talking about music so maybe this doesnt make any sense to anybody outside my head. i would much rather be able to work with melodies the way you do (sorry im not trying to suck up so much, i just mean it) than making straightup techno. but dancy is a good thing to strive for! (the aforementioned mandroid is terrific at that as well as edmx and ceephax) maybe ask one of them

maybe somebody else can be more specific for advice for this track...

Cool Track man

Very odd and fun sounding, like the one I commented on before, its sounds like a little puppet goblin tinkering and dancing about. Your getting some nice sounds out of the operator aswellf. That synth is pretty cool aint it. Like I said before, I think you need some kind of break down within the songs. Just strip it back and then compeletly feck it up. Try recording some of the operator to audio and then selecting different part of the sequence and duplicate small segments or large segments to create odd rhythms. Well thats what I would do, but then you are the Rephlex artist supremo and I'm just a Young farm boy from tatoine....I mean North wales,
keep up the tracks man , they bring a little joy to me each day :)

Anytime you fancy letting the old emissary here try a remix of any of your stuff, I'd be honoured.

yeah cool little tune

sounds like you are a hairs away from this being a breakbeat

if you want it danceable beat needs to be a bit less jerky, try laying
down your kicks in a traditional breaks patter and holding back on the
snares a little

think in two bar groups with a small turnaround at the end of the second bar,
more prominent turnaround at the end of bar 4 and of course bar 8

also hold back on the melody a bit .. make it less prominent, slow
it down so that it doesnt detract from your groove

I like it globalgoon. It needs more thump and chug for techno. And maybe (probably my taste) a bit of nastiness in the melody sound. It bubbles rather than grinds, if that makes any sense. Let me sleep on it and see if I come up with anything after a couple more listens.

I'm with udp, more nastiness, less plastic. More bottom, less resonant polish.
Or something.
A happy tune!
Or I getting happy?

I think this may be the key... lay down something underneath all of what you've got that is more "predictable" and driving. Then the "jerkiness" that's in there is just the flavoring. If you've got a stable foundation, all the work you've done will spring off of it. That foundation would tie it all together.

Get my drift?
The question is not whether or not you are influenced, but rather what it is that influences you.

i like it fine as is.
but for dancelike, er, i dunno, straighten out and fatten the beats maybe?
imho, you don't at all need to change it with any distortion etc in the name of 'techno'.
variety!
yay.

you a need a thick deep pad to give the song more texture. make the lead sounds deaper and add some reverb. other than that, the beats are very creative, but its not gona make anyone dance. u need to make the dancer feel warm and comfortable with a song that they can feel. and thats wat the song is missing: some bass.

I love this track!!! A few more tweaks and little more fine tuning and you should have yourself a winner. I wouldnt call it specifically 'techno' like some others mentioned. I think it leans closer to the electro side of the spectrum. But overall this is definitely danceable. People can just sometimes be overly critical with their genre classifications.

Keep it up goon!
