sashas MAVEN again....

Post by jeskola » Mon Feb 07, 2005 6:26 pm

So what exactly does it "do" that no other controller does.

quite a good new article about Maven and his use of Ableton.

but im still intrigued as to what the fuss is, and what "special things only sasha knows" and "prototype wave file controller "...

Surely its just a Midi controller - same as anyone elses - excspt it looks like the batmobile and weighs about 50kgs.

well the whole idea of a "custom" controller is to have it laid out to your specifications. just as richie, and monolake, and andrew neuman have their own controllers laid out in the most logical way in reference to how they use live...

it does look hot, but its what you do with it that matters.

a UC33 and (in the near future) a BCR2000 mounted above it is extremely logical for my methodology. costs just under $300 and doesn't require a flight case. :D

seems like it's not that interesting. makes me want to hook up my uc-33e to an iMac G5 instead of my powerbook, though.

Thanks for the article. I don't get what's the big fuss, other than its 80s/retro/galactic look, and that Sasha designed it/uses it. :) :)

just give me a second while i pick myself off the floor....... have ever had the pleasure of reading such a load of bollocks on one page...... fuck me. either i've just got old and cynical or im missing the point. i've grown up dancing to sasha and digweed in the uk over the last fifteen or so years. the guy needs to tell his p.r. machine to chill the fuck out. "first in the us" "network of people keeping me ahead of the game" "my team cuts all my tracks up for me" "i need to get in the zone" please "i listen to everything i play - i need to..." thats a novel idea i might try it some time.

what a clown - be it one with a good party piece.... being able to perform while having his head stuck up his ass.

I agree Jay. but that line is a loaded response.

Adam, have you ever met Sasha?

PS
I edted your post to include Sasha. He has after all designed his own controler just like robert ritchie and neuam in reference to HOW HE USES LIVE .

16bit....let it go.
I saw your previous post before you edited it and really felt you're doing yourself a disservice in front of everyone here. To be honest I haven't paid too much attention to the bickering that's been going on recently, but seeing the way you've leapt (quite personally) on Adam's (what seem to me at least to be) non-combatative words in this thread, I can only suggest you spend a little more time considering your words before posting lest you end up making yourself look bad. (I'm being diplomatic here)
Even if Adam isn't the greatest Sasha fan, what's it to you? He might be your biggest fan, we don't know 'cos you deem to hold your identity too important to be shared for whatever reason...unless....16Bit is actually Sasha.[/b]
