Akai MPK Mini and APC40 midi issues

Hi,
Just got the MPK mini to compliment the APC40 I've had for several months, but it seems that the MPK is sending the same midi signal in the same channel between the first piano key and pad 5 and some of the buttons on the APC40. I checked the MPK Mini editor (Max 5) to change the channel of the pad and keys but it isn't changing them, they are still on channel 1.
How can I fix this?

nevermind I figured it out. Thanks. Delete this mods.
