Trilian. the best thing since sliced Bass

Post by perplex » Wed Jun 29, 2011 1:03 pm

Does anyone use Trilian. I swear some of these sounds are unreal. This is probably the best synth/bass VST I have ever used.

What does ableton live community forums music and audio production think

Closest thing you can get to a meaty analog mass or mono synth in a compueter. The sources are excellent and great filters too. Oh and of course there happen to be a ton of amazing stand up basses and electric basses too (taking up most of the space)...

Yeah, it's pretty much awesome. Great sounds, great filters, lots of flexibility.

I wish it were easier to assign/MIDI map certain automation/controls using the blue hand, but that's just me being lazy.

The upright bass is one of the most 'playable' softsynths I've ever used, meaning it feels like you're actually playing a physical instrument, given all the nuance and detail you can get.

Great for synth basses, but for electric i think NI Jay and mm bass libraries for kontakt are better to play from a keyboard and I think they sound a little more natural as well so tend to use them much for for funky house bass lines etc.

Trillian is a very useful addition to omnisphere as well as omnisphere can use all the trillian sounds.
Nothing to see here - move along!

Dude, you're an omnisphere user, it's essential! The analog synth soundsources will blow you away and of course being able to use it in Ominsphere with the Orb and all that makes it even better!

I know, it's just not high on my list of priorties in terms of purchases right now. I mean, Omni has some pretty awesome basses too, so it's not like I'm hurting for low end right now :)

Some plug ins work with 1-63 bits, and some use 65 or more. Trillian is not one of those plug ins.

It probably just means easier to use multiple Trilians at the same time (64b can use more mem). Just a guess.. but it does kick ass. I keep going away from it for God knows why and am always amazed when I come back. I should stop going away from it really.

So, silly me, I've only ever been a preset tweaker in Trilian, but after someone here suggested how great the synth sources are, it has opened up a whole new world of awesome for me.

Boo. Yah.

Only problem is that you can't actually add parameters to the Configure device tab in Ableton - I thought I remembered being able to do that, but apparently not?
