and another remix of Björk...
and another remix of Björk...
no crazy beer bottles smashing over people's heads for inspiration this time, nah i just felt like doing another one.

The nasty synth is Operator. I thought it kinda brought out the sorrow in the original, same goes with the fx. The whole idea behind the remix was to exaggerate the aching tone the original has.

If you can get it cleared I see air play on those downtempo shows at college radio stations. It's fantastic.

Splendid, a glowing breeze ...
(Only tiny diffrence in ears maybe, I would like to have the most sharp edges, in the brass like attacks of the synth, to be a little softer.)
Adam, you are going to take me though the whole week in a good mode if you produce tracks like this...

Again, really really good, like your other Bjork remix. Keep 'em coming if you feel like it!

Excellent work again Adam. Pretty big fan of Bjork so these are great to have in the collection.
Do you have any plans to release material of yours in this vein anywhere?
I am curious if Bjork made her new album Medula the way it is just so people could easily remix it? I guess she made the tracks....did her vocals over them...then stripped out most of the music so pretty much just the vocal parts were left with a very minimal and subtle amount of music backing them. Pretty cool idea I think.

doubt i'll release any of my downtempo stuff like this. Its written more for disassembling and reassembling for the downtempo interludes in my live pa's. about half of the material i'm doing these days is only getting played on stage and given away on the internet (yea my publisher loves that... yet another reason to use Björk haha)experimedia wrote:Excellent work again Adam. i think the concept of Medúlla was more to use the voice as an instrument. some tracks on that album aren't minimal or stripped down at all. human voice is used for basslines, cymbals, and the whole lot. Her voice is just such a an amazing centerpiece i can see why some tracks are 100% traditional acapella.
i've thought about continuing on and remixing the entire album, but i have to find the time to do that.
cheers[/u]
God, how I wish the rest of the music industry felt as you do.AdamJay wrote:about half of the material i'm doing these days is only getting played on stage and given away on the internet (yea my publisher loves that... yet another reason to use Björk haha)
Great track, btw. I like the tones that you were able to pull out of operator for this one. =)
