Hi folks, I am quite new to performing with ableton but in short I use the session view to trigger, manipulate and remix loops of my own productions and remixes. I'm know wondering though how I could build in options or different directions in the set that I could take to suit the mood of the crowd. My set consists of 8 tracks with clips that I launch from an APC sometimes individually, sometimes a few at a time but mainly in whole scenes. My initial thought was to have a duplicate of the 8 tracks (so 16 in total) with alternate versions of tunes off to the side that I could page across to with the APC if I felt the need or just carry on from top to bottom in the set. Something like this...
The problem with this setup is without having the other 8 channels muted I wouldn't be able to trigger whole scenes anymore without triggering all 16 tracks at once. I also wouldn't be able to trigger clips and deactivate the previous clips on that track at the same time as I would be moving between tracks.
Does anyone else have methods they use to create options in a set?
Is there away to have hidden scenes or collapsed scenes that you can pull up? I don't really want to have different options or versions of tracks scattered in amongst the same set cos I think that would be confusing and lead to mistakes/dropping the wrong thing.
I hope this makes sense to someone! haha
Cheers
