"A Serious Error Has Occured"

I am struggling to export my tracks from Live as it crashes every time I try. I tried to freeze a track in order free up memory, but the same error occurred. I am being forced to spend time routing and bouncing tracks down in order to free up the room for Live to successfully export my track. I am running a Windows Vista 3gb Ram.

Is anyone else experiencing these obstacles?

what version of live? what hardware? any VST synths?
