First, thanks to everyone on this board for their great advice. I've learned so much just lurking here and reading others' posts. It's nice to know such a positive community of artists exists.
Ok, my question. Is there a way to change the MIDI In and Out notes, and have those notes output to a single instance of an instrument? I am using the ten pads on my Handsonic 10 to play simple bass melodies by triggering Operator.
I need to be able to change the MIDI In and Out notes, say, C-2 to C0, C#-2 to G0, D-2 to F0, etc. I can do this easily with the Input/Output section of a Drum Rack, and it works fine except for a huge problem: I have to have an Operator in a chain for each of these pads. Not only does this eat up CPU, it also is really annoying when I want to tweak the parameters because I have to do it for each chain. There's got to be a more elegant way.
If I stick an instrument on a MIDI track, then I have only one instance of the instrument (obviously), but I lose the ability to change the MIDI In and Out notes. I need to be able to specify the MIDI In/Out because I only have ten pads to work with, and I don't need to have a pad for all those out-of-key notes that I'll never use.
This seems like one of those obvious things that should be easy to do, but I'm stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
