no audio from quick time, feed back audio? from pc

i bought a new barbones pc, upgraded to windows 7, now i have a strange audio feeback all the time,
sounds like a fax noise, everytime you click on something and its present when i bounce down tracks,
also quick time was working fine, now it plays but no audio, in windows 7 sound properties it shows green output but i have no audio, ableton works fine, but with the feedback its pointless

m-audio audiophile latest windows 7 drivers,
system is intel i5 2400 4g ram, gigabyte intel 67 chip set mb

all worked fine on my old xp dual core system. please help
