Ok, sort of a newbie question, but this is driving me insane... Sorry if it's too basic.
New to Ableton here:
I just installed Live 8, and am exploring some of the clips that came with factory content.
I went to Clips--Construction Kits---Massive Decay--Midi 6--- Mk1 Bass 1.
So I put the MkBass1 Clip in the Session View. Looking at the Device section, I see the Clip, and the notes, and midi map. But what is being "midied"? What is inside the clip? An audio file? How does it produce the sound?
Scrolling around I also found a preset called Kit Pitchy(Operator) with various clips... Does the name mean those were sounds made in Operator, saved, and now grouped together in a clip?
Sort of confused here, because I wanna understand, for instance, how I would get the Mk Bass 1 clip and create my own preset of an Electric Piano. What INSTRUMENT is playing the clip?
What INSTRUMENT plays the sound on this clip? MkBass1?
Re: What INSTRUMENT plays the sound on this clip? MkBass1?
The clips named MkBass1 seem to be made with an instrument named Jazzmaster.
You can find it in the Browser under Instruments/Instrument Rack/Piano and Keys/Custom Electric Pianos/Keys-Jazzmaster.adb
Jazzmaster is actually made by layering an Analog and a Electric together
