Because, as much as people are pissed, upset, angry about ver.8 and 10001 things related- most users knows the other are even worse.
I put my vote for Live just because I dislike the campaign of Propellerheads on all social media (that is how I became aware about this idiocy) and how it kind of worked that within hours reason went from bottom to the top. I don't find it right, even if I use their product. I really respect and appreciate that Ableton is not begging, spamming they users to get high up in some useless poll.

I've used Reason, and Logic in the past, but something about Live is just a thousand times more intuitive, hope it gains some traction in this poll.

Voted Ableton having spent 6months in, after 10 years in Cubase.

Gosh, they just can not be compared, if you are relly looking for
capable and intuitive production tool and use hardware synths or live musicians in the projects.

Fruity Loops is now in the lead!

Last year the REAPER fan club turned up in force and it won... very silly that any poll can be swung that way

I use - and love - both Reason and Live. I voted in the poll for Live :D
iMac Retina 4K 3.3Ghz i7, 16Gb RAM
Live Suite 9.7.1 + Reason 9.1 + Pianoteq 5 + Sibelius 8.5

Of course. Shouldn't Pro Tools be #1 since it's the "industry standard"?
I have quite a few DAW software for the PC.

Reaper may be the best as far as stability but it's not my favorite app.
I don;t really understand the love for Reason (I have 4&5). It's editing windows are the poorest I've seen and no developer wants to waste time on their so called "advanced sampler".

FL Studio is the best value and some of the best support.

Each one has it's strength and weaknesses.

It is funny how we treat our software like a religion and declare jihaud when someone criticizes it. By far Sonar and Reason have the biggest fanboys.

While I agree the biggest draw for reason is the infinite routing possibilities, what you mention about controlling other equipment based off audio input...this is easily accomplished in live through simple side chaining and gates.

The biggest draw of Reason for me is simply that it's great fun ...

It's also pretty stable, easy to focus on what you are doing without getting sidetracked, *complete* in itself (at least, if it's the right tool for the job at hand... many projects I would rather do in Live, but for some things Reason is the perfect fit...).

Propellerhead are a really cool company too, and they just don't release a bug-ridden version for early adopters.... just saying ;)

YMMV.
