Live 8 Launchpad edition X Live 8.2.2

Guys,

I purchased Live 8 and have upgraded it to version 8.2.2 online.

I also purchased the Novation Lauchpad, that comes with a Live 8 Lauchpad edition (8.0.6).

I tried installing it as well, and now I've got 2 different versions of Live on my computer.

However, every time I open the lauchpad version to use the hardware itself, it asks me to register the software online, which I have done already, but don't seem to get it to work after I close the web browser.

The question is: Do I have to use the lauchpad edition to use the launchpad? If not, I'll simply ignore this version, uninstall it and use version 8.2.2 only.

I think you should ignore the Launchpad Edition version, you shouldn't need to use that to use your HW - it should work straight away in full Live.

I bought a launchpad first (with LE 8.0.6), upgraded it to 8.2.2.
A week or two later I upgraded from LE to full Live during the summer offer. I only have one installation.

The only difference between Live 8 and the Launchpad edition is that the launchpad edition is the stripped down version that comes with the launchpad, as can be seen in this comparison chart:

wouldn't make much sense for a dedicated ableton controller to only work with an extremely limited version of live, would it?

anyways, to allay any further doubts, I use a launchpad and Live 8, the launchpad will work with all versions of live, the Launchpad Edition is in no way designed for use with the launchpad, it is merely a particular type of intro version. Just uninstall it.

I have done it already and it's been working fine with the Live 8 version only. It crashes sometimes, which is a drag...but I guess it is simply inevitable.

Do yours crash as well? If so, how often?
