Production tips for up-front/dry sounding tracks
Production tips for up-front/dry sounding tracks
I like the "dry" sound in a lot of techno and house music; where things like finger snaps, hats, and even often lead synth lines sound close and … well, "natural" in that there isn't a lot of detectable delay or verb. This sound isn't actually dry though. Any tips for thoughtful use of delays, verbs, and other techniques to get a non-dry dry sound?
Re: Production tips for up-front/dry sounding tracks
I think you need to use reverbs and delays JUST enough to give it a sense of space and room, but not enough to actually start being audible.

also use efx sends for this, so you get the full body of the sound in the channel and you are able to choose which frequencies your reverb/delay works best for what you want by eqing the send channel. I think this will get you there
