Hello everybody!
I have a question about my korg ms20 controller.
I would like to use it to control different synth or plugins in different tracks.
By now i only could map it to one synth(massive) but what if i want also map it to a second massive synth and choose which one i want to control.
Korg ms 20 controller doesn't have different programs where i can choose different midi channel. So im a bit lost, may be someone knows a workaround.
Basically my question is: Can i control different parameters with one knob without that one affect the other?
Thanks
korg ms 20 controller to control different vst
Re: korg ms 20 controller to control different vst
Two possibilities:
With vst's in general, they have midi cc assignment. Instead of assigning via Live, use the vst layout to assign your controller. Then, whichever instrument is receiving data from your controller gets the changes. A nice bonus is that you can then record midi automation within clips in session view!
The other option is learning about 'blue hand control' with User Remote Scripts for Control Surfaces in the MIDI Preferences. Takes a bit of research but it gives you immediate accessibility to any selected device in Live. With vst's you would need to configure appropriate parameters to be accessible first. If your script let's you have multiple 'pages', you can give yourself control to more than 8 parameters. If you use this method I'd save your vst within an instrument rack into your Live device browser library
