Puremagnetik Retro Synths

Post by mysputmik07 » Fri Sep 02, 2011 11:25 am

Wo finde ich die Sounds nach der Installation in Live? Ist das dann kein eigenes Instrument? Oder sind die bei den Analog Sounds dabei?

I take they will be in instrument rack folder. Look from there.

After live pack installation is finished, a help document opens in Live which has links to locations. Some under instrument racks, some under clips etc.

Alles was ich sehe sind leere Ordner. All I can see in the browser after installing this pack are empty folders.

So for example under AbletonLibrary/Clips you have an empty PureMagnetik folder?
In my case I see 3 subfolders under that. And .alc files are inside the subfolders.

Are you sure you have enough disk space? The installation copied >15 000 files.

I guess Puremagnetik installs data in wrong places, not exactly great promotion of their products. I am not too keen wasting my time fixing messy install, even risking messing up something. I don't have any issues with any of Live own or VST stuff.

Mine all appeared just as described in my ~/Live Library/Intrument Racks/Puremagnetik folder. (I haven't got the computer in front of me now, but I'm pretty sure that was the path). Must be something funny with your set-up rather than the .alp file? :(

P.S. haven't looked in the "clips" folder myself yet, just looked at all the instrument racks in the main "Instrument Racks" folder in the library.

you have to authorize it to show up. I had the same problem at first.

i have installed countless puremagnetik packs before and have never had a problem accessing any of them.

puremagnetik downloads are instrument rack presets. therefor, you find them under "Instrument Racks" under the Instruments folder.

Got Live 8.2.2 and can't authorize the retro-synth, it says can't connect to the server... maybe I have to try again later...

EDIT:
I made it wit the offline-registration, where you have to enter your hardware-code and donwload the auz.
I runned the auz and everything is fine, will try the retro-synth-stuff now :)

I relocated Live Library (the default location in users/name.... became "invisible" in Lion- apparently not only to users but Live itself) and now the Puremahnetik folders are not empty anymore, there is no sound and just message about authorization. The response of Puremagnetik support to this was :

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
This is really an issue for Ableton Support as Retro Synths is an Ableton distribution and authorized on their end. Can you please contact them at [email protected]

We would be interested to hear what the issue is.

So I suppose we won't know what to do till Monday.
