default groove don't apply to recorded clips?

Post by peeddrroo » Fri Feb 18, 2005 5:47 pm

well, i guess it's not a bug but a feature... anyway, this leads to strange (and messy) results: when you record a clip (audio or midi), the default groove is "straight", even if you've set "swing xx" as default in the preferences.
i agree that for audio clips it makes sense, since if you're playing an instrument live, you don't want your natural "swing" to be "re-swinged" by Live.
but for midi clips that are quantized to 16th for example, having recorded clips set to "straight" doesn't make sense when all the other clips are set to "swing 16" and grooving hard. the recorded midi data becomes horrible...
so abletons, could we have the recorded midi clips have their "groove" value set to default?
thanx
