Global bpm changed involuntarily

Post by veto88 » Mon Sep 12, 2011 12:54 pm

Hi,

i'm having a little frustrating problem on live 8.1. maybe a bug

i'm working on the sound design of my film, where i work from scene to scene foleying every little action.
So i use no grid and 500+ warped / unwarped audio files placed individually in sync with my 25fps shot.

I allways start with my global bpm set to 120 (default)and work on my video playing at 100%

now the problem is that at some point the value of the global bpm changed without me noticing it straight away (to somewhat around 145 bpm).

But all still playes normal in sync at 100% the normal speed (25fps).

It was just after putting the scene with other scenes in a bigger sequence project that i noticed a problem.

My other scenes all import well at 120 bpm, but this particular scene imported played slower (like 18fps) all out of sync due it being 145 bpm.
i cant get the 500+ audio files to line up without me going in manually... and i dont want to consolidate because voice layers and ambiances will overlay and adjustments will need to be made easily!

SO the whole particular scene IS 120 bpm! but only the Global bpm shows a WRONG value of 145.

how can i import my 145 bpm scene into a 120 bpm project without all getting slowed down and out of place?

I have encountered this in the past with a song i made, started working at 175 bpm and at some point it changed to 86bpm still accurate speed but wrong value!

i'd like to know what happend.
Thanks

Check the clip properties- change the tempo in there to 120, hope this helps. Also, get the latest version of Live 8.2.6 I believe, lots of bug fixes!

Check if you have any audio clips set to "master" or "slave"
Delete any BPM autoamtion on the master channel (if any was recorded)

Good advice- also make sure there are no scenes named 145BPM (thats how bpm automation works with scenes right?)
