VST PLUG crashes my mac

Hello,

I have an old macbook pro (2Ghz Intel Core Duo, 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM) running on Leopard 10.5.8.

Every time I load an audio file on ableton in the arranger and I add a midi channel with a vst plug my CPU

goes berzerk. I might even try to doodle with some knobs or faders but it all stops there.

(The CPU goes in between 30 and 70%).

Then I get an awful ''bit smasher'' sound out of my speakers

and it makes me simply press stop and quit the project.

Any help appreciated ,

What VST is? Have you tried changing the Audio Buffer size? Try increasing it...
