I'm going to upgrade my computer to an i7 2600 Cpu. Please recommend me a solid motherboard

+1 for ASUS, although i believe the gigabyte does have the coveted TI firewire chipset.

Asus P67 Sabretooth is what I use with my i7 2600k. Awesome.

I just got a new computer with a Asus sabertooth p67 with an 3.4 ghz i7 2600. So far its been very stable, runs cool and is very overclockable. I have 8gb on it.
I got it from CPU solutions.com after hunting around. I ended up just buying the entire rig from them. It was only a little more than the separate components at NewEgg, and they had the components I wanted. I paid $1300 and change for an i72600, asus p67, 8gb memory, 500gb/7200 rpm, slowish video card, Antek case and water CPU cooler.
It is SO much better than my core2 laptop. I can now use Reason rewired with lots of effects and simultaneous stuff without worries (at least so far).
The chipset is not a TI, but is approved for my presonus audio interface- it works flawless. A far cry from the laptop with that junk Ricoh chipset.
I wouldn't hesitate to use the Asus- you'll have the benefit of being able to easily overclock, which the 2600 chip easily handles. I haven't needed it yet though!

Be sure to verify that your GPU and Memory are compatible with the motherboard...
