APC40 with Live 7 full version i bought??? How?

Hello,
I have been a happy Live user since version 1.0! Well, officially
on the record since 5.0 , the very first software that I bought!

I just got the APC 40 & currently am running my 7.0.2 version.
I am confused on how to use APC40 easiest setup.
Directions said to load latest updated Live, which your website shows as 7.0.18
isnt 7.0.2 higher than that? how come i dont see the APC40 showing up in
Preferences-MidiSync-Control Surfaces as an option???

I shouldnt have to buy Live 8 or use the APC Edition cd it came
with, right? should i really download 7.0.18 so called "latest version" when its lower
# than what i have?

I did plug it in with my current Live 7.0.2 & it still did
not show up under "Control Surfaces" but DID show up under
Inputs & Outputs section on top,
and Midi Ports inputs & outputs too!

Still, need it under control surfaces to work i believe.
its not responding to midi...

If it's an APC-Edition you should download the recent Live Lite APC Edition Version 8.26.
If you still use 7.0.2 then upgrade to 7.0.18 which is the latest version for Live 7, I guess the APC was not yet been released when Live 7.0.2 was the most recent version so there will be no support for it in that version.

Well, what I am concerned about is....7.0.2 is a larger #, therefore later version
than what is being called the 'most recent update' of 7.0.18. So, if I install
a lower # version, wouldnt that mean I couldnt open up all my tracks on that because
i made them on a newer version?

hehe don't worry it's not about the math...they kept on counting from 7.0.2,7.0.3 till 7.0.18, I guess.
7.0.18 IS the latest version!
