midi keyboard controllers
I am in search for a new controller. I have narrowed it down to the Akai MPK49 or the Arturia Analog Experience. I have read that the pads on the Akai is a little buggy but it's a good controller. As for the Arturia I don't really need the extra software and don't know anyone who uses one. Has any one had any experience with both of these controllers.

Re: midi keyboard controllers
Over the years I have had many different keyboard controllers, Akai, M-Audio, Novation, garagekey, and some other weird ones, not to mention a few analogue synths.
I still prefer the Novation SL series, the ones before they started putting the nocturn knobs on them.
Like this...

I like the feel of the keys, the layout, the amount of knobs and sliders, the xy pad, the pitch modulation stick. To me all of these things seem superior to the competition, in that price range.
I have never played pads on a keyboard controller that were any good. If you desire pads, get something made for pad drumming.

I do like the all in one use of having the pads and knobs on the keyboard. I just really need a sturdy reliable controller. I tried fixing my Edirol PCR-M30. The contacts under the rubber strip wasn't working right after a year and a half.
