Midi Mapping Problem

Post by Muso80 » Mon Oct 03, 2011 12:07 pm

Hi,
I'm having problems with the Midi mapping function in Ableton 8.2.6. and hopefully someone can help me with it....

First off here's my set up and other info in case it's needed..

Macbook Pro: 8gb Ram, Quad Core

OS: Mac OS 10.7.1

Controllers: Novation SL MkII
Novation Launchpad
Line 6 KB37

Audio Interface: M-Audio Mobile Pre

Also here's a link to a screen shot of my my "Midi Sync" tab in preferences as I currently have it set

Basically my problem is that the midi mapping seems to have a mind of its own!.. I go into midi map mode, map a pot control for Send A channel 2, it keeps automatically changing the mapping to 1/1... and when I exit mapping mode the on screen send control is stuck about half way erratically shaking like crazy!! and the mapped pot can't move it at all! ... I have been having various other probs with the back to arrangement button and other aspects of live so I have reinstalled a couple of times and tried various midi sync tab combinations... but it seems when I solve one problem another one occurs!!

I really hope some one can help with this :(

P.S. All drivers etc are up to date..

One of your keyboards has a wiggly Mod Wheel that is not staying still. Try it with only one of them connected. Then try it with the other. When you find the culprit, you will have to deal with the tough decision of either not using it fully, of attempting a fix of some sort (I think the mkii uses a spring, so I'm guessing it is the line6). First 'fix' I would try is just to hold your modwheel down to the bottom firmly whenever you are doing assignments.
