track name matching the device without track number
track name matching the device without track number
I want to be able to type in the name of the track and have it be the same as the device/plugin without the track number in front of it. Whenever you try to type it in and it matches exactly the name of the device, the track number is automatically inserted before the name. This changed from Live 7 to Live 8. The only workarounds are to misspell the name or put a bunch of spaces & hide a character beyond the width of the track.
Re: track name matching the device without track number
you could spell it all 1337 ?
0P3R470R
4|\|4L09
etc.
sorry, that's not much help is it.
I don't know the real answer.

Ha ha, yeah guess so.
Thing is, some of the plugin names are so long they get cutoff with the normal track width. If you would be able to get rid of the number and space there, it would fit just fine. It's a small thing, but it kind of bugs me sometimes & wastes space, if they could get rid of the automatic numbering in a future update that would be great. You can always type it in yourself if you want it there.

Re: track name matching the device without track number
+1
The current behaviour of Live 8 really annoys me. I know it's only a little thing but I just hate it when computers try and overrule me and behave like they know best. Track numbers in the track title are irrelevant. So if I erase them to put my own name it should not then put them back. Grrr...

+1 this is super annoying, especially that it is inconsistent.
