audio tracks that have tempo and signature

Post by EdRyan » Fri Oct 21, 2011 12:30 am

Wondered if anyone can help me with some advice on this.

One of my friends has passed me an edit of a dubstep track which has been reworked with a house intro & outro section.

The tempo is manipulated from 128 4/4 to 140 3/4...back to 128 4/4.

I am struggling with a few things though.. I want to break the track up so that I can adjust Live to follow. So that effects stay in sync and I don't end up trying to launch a 4/4 track after from a weird place within a bar.

I've tried splitting the track into 3 clips and using follow actions. With each clip cropped and the follow action setup properly. But this generates a couple of glitches. The first follow is too soon, whilst the second leaves a gap before launching. Plus I struggle warping in 3/4. If anyone can give me some help. It's been ages since I did anything on time signatures and going between them..

Obviously. It doesn't change Live's tempo or signature either. I know I can use the global/scene launch to do this or manually change it. But then I worry about launch quantise when going back to 4/4.

Any ideas & advice welcome :)
