Quick DrumRack question...

Post by jeeves.207 » Fri Oct 21, 2011 4:35 pm

I have a couple samples loaded up into my DrumRack and I want the volume to remain the same once I remove my finger from the pad.
It seems that if I let go, it fades. I bet it's something obvious that I'm missing, but I can't put my finger on it.
Anybody?

You will want to set the release time to maximum. the maximum release time in the drum rack is 60 seconds but obviously it is fading from the moment you release the trigger. So if you have a long sample you will either have to hold your finger down you trigger midi clips with held nots in them. Are you triggering drum samples? cus the 60s release value should be more than enough for most drum samples to play out before you here and decay.

I'm triggering parts of a mix. Long samples, but nothing close to 60s. I turned up my release to max, already, but it still fades after about three seconds of regular volume.

Don't realy think it's best suitwed to that job. Native instument battery has the option to play the inter sample back but all of Abletons sample players are envalope only. You might want to look at triggering clips and map them to your keyboard, midi keyboard and or pads. Thats really the way to go about it and probs explains why Ableton never felt the need to include such and option in to drum rack its self.
