This seems so simple..but I can't figure it out:
Is it possible to warp an audio track and automatically create clips for each warp section without manually setting the play-markers for each section??

Kinda.. but not quite.
You can set warp markers then right click on your audio in arrangement view and choose "Slice To New MIDI Track".
A window will pop up with options to "Create One Slice Per:" with either Warp Marker, Transients, Bar, etc.. in a dropdown.
If you select "Warp Marker" it'll make a rack with clips where you placed warp markers.
tho it's probably not quite the answer you're looking for.
