I have Windows 7 and Live 8, and tonight I plugged in my LDP8 and LPK25 controllers for the first time. The LPK25 is perfect; every button functions. But the LDP8 knobs don't do anything. The pads work, and I see a little yellow flashy light when I do the knobs, so I know the unit is physically sound. I just can't map the knobs to anything.
Also, I can't seem to map arbitary parameters to either the LDP8 or the LPK25. I click the MIDI button in Live, click a parameter, and then use a control, but nothing gets mapped.
Ideas?

Re: Akai LDP8 knob mapping difficulty
SOLUTION:
Preferences > MIDI sync > turn on Remote
Also helpful: set LDP8 on control surface, input, and output. This will enable instant mapping for the knobs!
