Performing in live question

When I am using the session play music with a midi controller and I hit a button to start a track there is a pause before it starts playing. I know that this is to keep the song in time but how would I shorten the pause or completely get rid of it?

Global Quantization in the transport bar at the top. Set it to "none".

in the clip inspector you can also set quantization for individual clips. Multiple clips, as well. This way you can have some without quantization and some with.
