Independent play buttons?

Independent play buttons?

I am using ableton live 8 and was wondering if there was anyway to play a midi or audio track in the clip slot (session view) without it automatically playing the "master play button" at the top.

The master "play" button basically means Ableton is playing something so, no.

Why is that?
