Hiya
I'm running a MBP 2.66 GHz i7 with 4GB 1067 MHz DDR 3 ram, OS X 10.6.8 , have just updated to Live 8.2.7
Have just bought a Motu Audio Express to use in a session today. Installed as per instructions. Fired up Live, chose the Motu in preferences, played a track, worked fine and sounded great, created a new project, and ableton crashed.
Now whenever I try to enable the motu as input / output device in Live prefs, it crashes Live. Have tried the Motu on USB and Firewire and the same thing happens. Also update motu driver. No Love.
Any suggestions?

Turns out the problem was my computer
the 'hear.plugin' was being called whenever the soundcard was enabled, and this crashed whichever software was trying to use the soundcard. This is a known conflict that has also caused my skype to crash whenever a call is connected.

to fix, we just moved the plugin out of the folder it was in. motu works fine now.
I need to say a massive thank you to the guys at West End DJ on Hanway St in London who helped me check the computer and the soundcard for problems. When it was clear the motu wasnt the problem, they carried on the toubleshoot until it was working fine. Great to have proper support from the dealer with no quibbles.
