As I understand, Ableton as a good faith measure will permit a user to run Ableton on their PC and Laptop under a single license.
I have just purchased/upgraded from the LP edition to the full suite and all is fine on my main PC. Now, I haven't installed anything on my laptop since I don't really do gigs but would like to start putting together a smaller setup designed for gigs separate from my current studio.
How does registering 2 PCs work? Do I just have to log into my Abe account and choose to register the PC again from my laptop? Then the next question would be what would I do if I needed to upgrade a machine? I know Ableton are quite helpful with all this but wanted to know from users that have done this already before I go mucking around with the licences.
1 license, on 2 machines?

Re: 1 license, on 2 machines?
Just install it like you did on the first one. It'll contact Ableton just like before, and your second unlock will automatically be applied to it. It's pretty slick.
Should you ever need another legitimate unlock (e.g. you've replaced a computer or reinstalled the OS) you need only contact Ableton (I think it's [email protected] but check me on that) and explain the situation, and unless they think you're trying to pull something, they'll add a couple of unlocks to your account.
I've done this a few times (replaced two computers, done several reformats) and they've always been very prompt and helpful. I think the longest I had to wait was over a weekend once because I emailed them on Friday.

it's a breeze. as long as it's legit you will always be able to use what you purchased. you are a customer and they are the supplier. you paid, you get your license. however many times. BUT, like mentioned before; you will need to contact them to go above 2 or more. *i think* I've already had to do 2 installs. live crashed my PC directly after the install. I had to reformat and do it again. i love ableton and the customer support is top notch.
