can i use my copy of ableton on 2 computers simultaneously?
Hi,
I have some important gigs coming up and i want to use a second mac to run ableton. So if my main mac running ableton has any tech issues,
I can switch to my other mac running ableton.
I have paid for a full licensed version of Ableton for my main mac.
Can i download Ableton on the other mac, and use the same serial Number?
Can i run both apps of ableton simultaneously?
In the past when i've purchsed upgrades of Ableton, i have always been able to use it on at least one other computer.
When performing, it is important i can have both apps running for easy switch over if one set up has problems.
If you can pls respond thoroughly to my query as my big gigs are coming soon
Kind regards,

From the user license agreement
Under this License the Software may only be used on one computer at a time.

You may install on 2 machines, but can only run on one machine at a time. If you want to run on 2 machines simultaneously, you need 2 licenses.

You have 2 licenses that you can use on two different machines and they will be both operational at the same time...bno issues...
I have it on my main desktop and on my laptop that I use during gigs.
Most of the times I have both running when preparing my live sets.
As user license agreement, you should use only one copy at the time while performing, I suppose...

IIRC though, they'll sell you a second license at half price for scenarios like this.

For a performance, run an unauthorized version ("trial mode" or whatever) on the second machine... Just don't make any changes to the set you would want to save. I used to do it that way a long time ago in the days when my set required two computers.

You clearly want to have the second mac as standby - ready to go in case of problems. In that case you are within EULA frame. In case of actively using both at the same time you would need second license. BTW. one of the most live performer friendly features of Live is that if all you computers break, get stolen, drown ..whatever , if you have your Live projects, files etc on external drive+ Live -.dmg, zip or CD with demo copy, you can install quickly and do your show with any computer available.johnnydeep wrote:for easy switch over if one set up has problems.
