If you don't want Live 9, then don't buy it when it comes out.

Simple as that.

Meanwhile, there are PLENTY of users such as myself who would REALLY like certain well-documented features.....enough that we would shell out money to upgrade. Therefore, it is in ableton's interest as a company to release a new version with these features in it.

We will get our features, ableton gets our money, and people who are happy with version 8 can stay put in version 8. There, see? everybody's happy

I hope Live 9 is explOsive with tons of new features that are too much to handle and hella die hard Live 7 and below users. Hopefully Live 9 will turn its current fan base off with ill timed updates and features no one requested

64bit support is an absolute must for me at this point, and with that said I would like the ability to have more knobs on the racks. These are directly tied to each other for me. Sure I can get around the knob issue by nesting racks, but what a pain in the ass it is to map them this way. Anyways this has all been said and it is up to Ableton to bring what they have to table. Otherwise I think some of us long term users will probably be looking for other solutions to these issues.

The reason it's taking so long is because they're starting from scratch. Still 3 to six months out.
