BUG!?? Grid Freak Out... Anyone Know How to Fix it?
BUG!?? Grid Freak Out... Anyone Know How to Fix it?
So i'm working on a project and then my grid in arrangement view freaks out and now i can't see any audio or midi clips. When I click somewhere on the grid it says i'm at marker like negative 3 billion or something.
But when I'm in session view, at the top where you can see a preview of the arrangement view it looks fine.
I have no idea what happened. When I try to zoom out or in ableton freezes and I have to force quit.
Any ideas? Hahaha...ugh

Not a bug; something is amiss in your machine. Assuming you've already tried updating all of the drivers, and assuming you are using a legitimate copy of Live: What I would do (what I've had to do in the past, long ago before I switched to Mac) is restore the PC back to factory setup, then update all of the drivers and install Live again. If the problem persists, then it's time for updated hardware.

I am definitely on a Mac and I do have a legitimate copy of Live. I have also brought the project to another computer (A Mac) and it does the same thing. My other projects are fine. Don't think it is a machine issue.

Send the project to Ableton Support along with instructions as to how to reproduce the problem.r.e.g. wrote:I am definitely on a Mac and I do have a legitimate copy of Live. I have also brought the project to another computer (A Mac) and it does the same thing. My other projects are fine.

That's a tough one then. Does it also do this on a new, simple set? In the past (rarely), I've had strange behavior (not like what you're describing) creep into a complicated set, and had to rebuild it. But I agree, It's time to tap the customer support that you paid good money for.

First and only time it has done it... It is really really weird. The project is pretty much done for. I exported every channel and started a new one. haha

check for shared RAM between your main OS and video card and stop doing that. Live puts audio processes ahead of video processes (screen updates etc). no clue how Macs handle that.
