So I'm having problems with Ableton increasing the gain of material I've recorded into my computer after I consolidate the loops.
So I've recorded audio loops from my drum machine into Ableton
Let use one loop as an example
it peaks at -11.4
Volume of the master is at 0
Volume of the track is at 0
Gain is at 0
I drag the recorded loop (10 bars) from the session (where I recorded it) to the arrangement
I have the warp on
I have the loop on and I've selected the 2 bars I'd like the loop to be
I press Command+J and it consolidates the loop but now the gain is at -11.4 instead of 0 as I would have expected.
when I set the gain to 0 the wave form gets huge and much louder and peaks the master at .35 db.... not much but still confusing.
Its this normal for Ableton?

Re: Quick Question about Cropping Audio in Ableton
Got it
I was pointed out that I'm actually Cropping Audio and there is a Crop Audio option when you side click a sample in Session view
Thanks Y'all
