Midi Controller 17 hardwired to tap tempo?

Post by conny » Sun Mar 13, 2005 12:36 am

I usually turn to controlers 14 and up for sending internal midi data to external and back.
Was surpised that at 17 things stared to behave strange.
And saw that the TAP button started lighting up!

Found this spec:

14 Undefined
15 Undefined
16 Ribbon Controller or General Purpose Slider 1
17 Knob 1 or General Purpose Slider 2

at
http://www.tweakheadz.com/midi_controllers.htm

If there is some limitation to which numbers should not be used for general control (I don't use 120 - All notes off, naturally) in Live?
Did not find anything in the manual.

Hi conny,

normally no MIDI controller number is assigned within Live by default. You have to assign it all manually.

Are you sure that controller 17 is not assigned to TAP Tempo in your Live set or in your template?
If it is not assigned, could you please send me this song (just the .als file)?

regards,
Alex

Hi Alex -

Sorry , I could not reproduce it today.
Severe user error, probably.
