How do I use my old drum machine with Live?

I have an old Roland R5 drum machine. I want to know what I need to setp up to do two different things:

-Use the Roland pads to play the Impulse sets
-Also use the Roland pads to play my Korg Karma drum sets

All this in Live of course

Any suggestions?

What do I hook up to what?

I have an old Roland R5 drum machine. I want to know what I need to setp up to do two different things:
Q:Use the Roland pads to play the Impulse sets

A:This is simple connect your r5 drum machine to your computers midi in port and select the midi prefs in live to that port (click midi learn button in live, select the impulse cell you wish to trigger, hit your pad. a number should appear on the cell, repeat the process... eg, pad1 cell 1, pad 2 cell 2 ect...

Q:Also use the Roland pads to play my Korg Karma drum sets

A:just try pluging the roland r5 midi out into the midi in of your korg karma should work...

this is all depending if the r5 has midi...im just checking now...
