Hi, I'm having a weird problem where the red "back to arrangement" button lights up when I'm playing the arrangement, even after I click it (multiple times). I guess it has something to do with the automation that I recorded…
live 8.2.7
synth: camel audio alchemy 1.25.0
controller: m-audio oxygen8 v2
I used alchemy's midi learn feature to map its performance knobs to the knobs on my oxygen controller. Then I recorded automation on my track by using the punch-in/punch-out recording. Now when I play it back in arrange view, as soon as it gets to the automation the red "back to arrangement" light comes back on.
I don't have any clips in session view at all, and I've hit "stop clips" multiple times to be sure. Basically the red light comes on, I click it, it goes dim for a split second and comes back on as soon as it hits the next automation breakpoint.
Any ideas? I'll send something to ableton support but they seem to be a lot slower than this forum…
edit: I've unplugged all of my midi controllers to see if somehow there was a midi feedback loop. The problem persists.
"back to arrangement" ALWAYS comes on - automation problem?
Re: "back to arrangement" ALWAYS comes on - automation problem?
My guess is that your controller is sending some data that changes the setting away from the value set by automation - either randomly because the knob is on the edge between two values, or because of controller feedback settings in Live's options.
