[CONTEST] Mixage FOu sound creation in 80 sec

Hi Ableton users,

The "Mixage Fou" contest ("Crazy Mix") is open till the 3 of june.

For informations the idea is to make a sound creation of 80 sec (max) with a unique sound bank. It is possible to create with only some of the sounds but it is forbidden to add new ones.

All effects and sound transformations are allowed...

For the 4th year it is possible to create in stereo, but also in 5.1, in 7.1 and in auro-3d 9.1

There are some really nice prizes to win this year including a workshop of 2 days to mix in WFS format (spatial sound over many speakers), softwares licences, money and more.

i uh, i clicked that link and got presented with a site in what i assume is french, followed with a big fat barrage of advertisements or sponsors or whatever the shit it was.

needless to say, i left pretty quickly.
i did manage to find that american flag and clicked that and at the end it said
"There is no technical or aesthetic criterias for participation, only one condition:
to make a Crazzzzzzyyyyyy Mix."

i think it was sponsors too but it pretty much looks like a bi wall of advertisement, sort of like those old sites back in the day before people went with the whole web 2.0 thing.
i have no idea what it's about really, what the criteria are etc, but hey, the sounds i heard were interesting, and that's what matters.

There are no advertisements only the partners of the 2012 edition.

There are 20 partners and each partner will give a prize to the sound creation he prefers in total liberty (no first or second prize...). So there will be around 20 winners (1 participant is able to win several prizes).

For the rules : you have to download the sound bank of the contest and make a crazy mix out of it (80 sec max).

To download the bank just go on the left side and click on "CLIQUEZ ICI POUR PARTICIPER" you can also click on the little american flag above to have it in english.

One precision, this project is created without money at all (no subventions, no company mafia under...) and only sound lovers, just listen to the sound sources "raw material" and the first creations that are available, it is high quality

just out of curiosity, i downloaded the sample content and currently working on the stereo thing, am i only allowed to use the stereo L/R samples, or all sources and only upload for the stereo content thing?

Ah thank you for your feedback about the quality of the soundbank, it is professional sound materials given in uncompressed format.

Check out the sound number 10 (ambient_recording). It has been recorded with 4 hydrophones underwater. This exceptional recording has been made by Timo Klinge (Sonar Surround).

umm, i am allowed to process the material any way i see fit, right?
because the one i'm working on now is some heavily processed sounds and resampled sounds from the original sources (stereo only sources) and no external plugins, nor external sources.
this is allowed right? because technically it's new sources since they are reprocessed and resampled from the source, but i think that is ok.

otherwise i'm in a hurry haha.
in doubt i can provide the source. been getting those requests on other similar contests and things anyways.
