Ableton live 4.1 and creative extigy

Hi
I'm having cut out problems using AB live 4.1 and a creative extigy sound card (sorry know there not that good) Doesnt appear to be a latency problem but a complete cut out, levels and every thing. The CPU reading is low so thats not it. It seems fine using the laptops internal sound card except the sounds a bit mmmmm. I believe the extigy doesn't support
asio drivers, ive tried updating direct x, nothing..
I formatted my laptop last week and put a fresh version of Win xp pro on but before with the xp home version the laptop came with it was fine.
Anyone got any ideas please. I have a gig mid April and haven't even started on my set......
