Just got call from Apple that they will replace my 2010 13`MBP.
Apple Care options are:
1. 2012 basic model - free,
2. better 13` model for 300€ extra( 2.9 instead of 2.5 CPU is OK, but Apple calculates 100€ for the 250Gb bigger HDD and 100€ for 8Gb RAM, even less interesting since I rather go for 16Gb anyway)
3. Basic 15`for 600€ extra
My preference would be refub 2011 15`- for less money better GPU then basic 2012 15`, might get even non glare. However Apple does not give refub as replacements so I would have to take the 13 free, EBay it and get whatever I want.
What you think/ would you do?

15" better for audio work as it has an input, and as you've stated it has a better GPU for gaming...quad core too.

Quadcore processor on the 15". Only dualcore on the 13"
Imac 27" 3.4ghz i7 16gb 10.7.4
MBP 15" 2.16ghz CoreDuo 2gb 10.6.8
Logic 9.1.7 & Suite 8.2.7 w/ M4L
MOTU 828mkII firewire
Serato SL3, (2) 1200 M3D's & (1) CDJ800 w/ Ecler Evo4
Keystation 88 Pro, padKontrol w/ Farmpad, Launchpad

Thanks for suggestions.wjbuchanan wrote:15" better for audio work as it has an input, and as you've stated it has a better GPU for gaming...quad core too.
13`has switch able input/ output but I dont spend 2000 or more thousand on computer to use 5$ internal card.
Faster CPU vs wasting time waiting while rendering is the strongest argument. No interests in games but better GPU can make a difference even in DAW context. I remember testing Live with dual switchable GPU and there was serious difference when sequencers run. Actually I am getting the replacement due to graphic issues, that became too expensive for me and Apple to investigate anymore. 90% the error happened while working with DAWs or Traktor (surprisingly never with Live, could be due to simplistic GUI).
So far I wrote, asked Apple about taking refub 2011 15` option, which would be ideal solution.
