Installing Samples after new Live install

Hello all,
I've just bought a Novation Launchpad controller that came with a version of Ableton Live 8. I've installed everything and it's all working. I see the install DVD has two sets of samples, I think they are samples anyways, and I wanted to make sure I installed them properly. I googled around but I'm not finding anything specific to what I was searching so I figured I'd come here. Basically, on the DVD there are these two folders in the same directory as the Launchpad Demo Project:

• LOOPMASTERS SAMPLE PROMO
• MTD - mikethedrummer

I notice the later has this "Ableton Impulse Kit" as well. Please bear with me if this is a novice question or if it's something covered elsewhere. I assure you, I searched a lot before asking.

I just downloaded the files from the install DVD and bookmarked the folder in my media browser.

if either of those sample sets come with '.alp' (Ableton Live Pack) files then opening those will get Live to install them, usually straight into the Live library.
