Anyway to record mouse clicks as midi?

Using Something like ezdrummer to click on the interface. I tried recording via mouse but nothing registered.

Is it possible to send midi data via mouse?

Are you talking about recording stuff via mouse click? I suppose you could just use Impulse or Drum Racks for this and click on the cells once you have the samples laid out the way you want, any effects added, etc...and enable record, and go to town from there. Otherwise I don't know what you mean since I don't have ezdrummer. I'm a hack at drumming as it is too

yea, talking about clicking on a part of the vstis GUI ( a snare drum, for example) and have the output of that snare drum recorded as a midi note. Tried it but it simply doesn't work.

Ok, I think I get what you are trying to do. You are trying to utilize the instruments GUI as input to a track, right? I am not sure which, if any Live instrument could do this as normally I do the following:

1) Decide what instrument I am going to use for a particular track
2) Arm said MIDI track
3) Choose a preset if not using my own samples (Impulse/Drumrack/Sampler/Simpler)
4) Work out a progression or hit clip record button and go to town using a MIDI controller for input (LPD8, padKontrol, MIDI keyboard, etc...) or computer keyboard for inputting/playing the notes/pads.
5) Hit stop, play it back and see how far off timing-wise I am lmao and adjust/quantize notes as I need to, get rid of the *bad* notes

Rinse and repeat as I build up tracks.

I don't know if Impulse/DrumRacks or any other Live instrument can do what I think you're wanting to do. I think you want to click on Impulse pads after dropping samples onto them (satisfied with the sounds) and with record enabled get the notes recorded? Am I on the mark on that summation? If so, don't know, someone more knowledgable could answer (or I could try it when I next fire up Live (could be this weekend....but Guild Wars 2 beta weekend is upon us today thru sunday so.... and it's FINAL BETA yay! ).

I don't know about the particular one you're using, but not all VSTs put out their notes as midi. If it can send midi, you should be able to create a blank midi track, set it to record, and then select to have the Midi-in coming from the track your VST is on, and then on the second pull down select the name of the VST. This means that the midi in is coming directly from the VST.

If you don't see that VST on the pulldown, it doesn't send midi.
