Having Trouble With Ableton
I am very new to Ableton and have had a lite version. I just bought the full version of Live 8 about an hour ago and am very dissapointed that there are no drum sounds to load in impulse. There are about 15 drum kick sounds and they all are not what i'm looking for. I make experimental electronic music that needs good kick drums. I am very distraught and disappointed about my purchase, currently. I keep thinking, "How do artists such as shlohmo make their music in ableton when there are so little drum sounds and drum flexibility?" Please help me, I want to not feel like I wasted my money. Thanks

Benjamin, have you looked at the drumrack options. I don't use impulse, but the drumrack has a fairly broad selection if kits and individual hits. Also, if you go to one of the 3 folders and select the "library" up at the top, look over the Clips > Drums projects...quite a bit of content/hits there too.

getting free kickdrums is as easy as getting catpics on the web.

call the support line. you may not have installed the library properly - if you have had a trial version then sometimes getting the library working can be tricky but they will be able to help.
there's also a load more content in the physical dvds which you pay a bit more for.
personally I found the eic a bit disappointing and it might be better to pay (low cost) for sample content from puremagnetiks or someone like that.

Other things people do to get the right kick-
Make it using a synth
Sample from another track
Record a real kick
Record something else that sounds a bit like a kick
Layer 2 or more kicks from any technique
Use eq, filters and compression to shape the sound.

The best answer would be to mix the current drum sounds you already have. You should be able to achieve any drum sound you desire with the samples and devices available to you in Ableton, especially if the samples you are working with originated in Sampler.
