Help with updating to Live 8.3.3

Hello and thanks for your help.Simple question....when I run the Live 8.3.3 update its only offering that I REMOVE Ableton from my computer. Is this normal? Will it remove the old Ableton and install 8.3.3?

if you want to keep the previous version, then rename the application to something else before you install the new one. Ableton have done away with their previous naming scheme, where each version of Live had a unique application name with the version number in it.

Why would I want to keep a previous version? If I click remove previous version then install 8.3.3 Will my previous projects be OK? Actually I had already installed 8.3.3. I removed it from my dock and it just went missing-really bizzaro..anyway... thanks so much for you help-very cool of you!
